How Judging Works

Judged Against Excellence

Entries don't compete with each other. Each is evaluated against a standard of excellence based on Travel Weekly's deep experience in each category.

100-Point Scale

Gold Magellan (90–100 pts) for the best of the best. Silver Magellan (80–90 pts) for outstanding work. A category may have multiple winners or none.

Expert Panel

19 respected travel industry authorities. No judge evaluates categories in which they work or have worked.
